Current regulations

Last updated: May 17th 2021
Please remember that there are laws that require people to self-quarantine in certain cases. So we ask everyone to not attend Aletheia if one of the following cases applies to you:
  • If you show symptoms that could be a Corona infection, then you are not allowed to attend Aletheia. This includes cough, fever, etc. If you show such symptoms, please wait for 14 days after being symptom free or make sure that you can provide a negative test result before returning to our service. If you start showing symptoms during the service, you are required to leave immediately.
  • If you have been in close proximity to a confirmed Corona case, then we also ask you to not attend our services for 14 days, or to take a test and make sure that you don’t have Corona.
  • If you are under any kind of legal obligation to self-quarantine or to not meet other people (e.g. traveling into Germany from another country that requires you to self-isolate for a certain amount of time), then please abide in the local regulations.
  • Also, we have to make sure that we can all sit at least 1.5m away from anybody who is not a member of our own household. Due to the size of our room, we are limited to maximum 12 people and maximum 8 households in the main room. Additionally, three more households can listen to the service in the extra rooms (but not in the main room).
  • If we reach maximum capacity (see above) we have to refuse entry to anyone who comes afterwards.
  • There will be no communion for the time being
  • We won’t do an offering during the service, to avoid physical proximity. Instead, the offering box will be in the front at all times, you can put in your donation at any time.
  • Bulletins will not be distributed in paper form, but will be made available online instead.
  • We are allowed to sing together again. The worship leader will be allowed to take off the mask while leading worship, but will remain behind a protective wall. Everybody else will be required to wear their masks while singing together.
  • Sunday School is resuming again and will be offered during each service
Here are a few things that we will do/provide and not do/provide during this unique time:
  • We will not provide food/drinks, to avoid us all gathering around the food table and/or touching the same cups, bottles, etc. We will only provide water bottles that you can take and drink during the service, but not share with others.
  • We will provide some masks in case someone shows up without one (but please see point below as well)
  • We will provide hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray, etc.
  • If you are a regular member of our church, we already have your contact information. For everyone else, we will have to take your contact information (phone number and/or email address), so that we can contact you, in case someone tests positive for Corona within two weeks after the service. We will not save your contact information electronically and will discard the form within three weeks after you attended the service.
  • We will use the door at Aidenbachstr. 144A as entrance and the door at Aidenbachstr. 144 as exit. This way we can minimize contacts with one another when coming in and leaving. Please take your jackets and belongings into the main room, so that we don’t have to go back to the entrance to get our things when we leave.
  • The person conducting the service will keep a distance of at least 2 meters to everyone while preaching, praying or giving announcements from the front.
  • We will exchange the air before and after the service.
  • Doorknobs will be disinfected before each service
  • No two people from different households will share the same microphone
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected before every service. We will also provide paper towels for one time use only.
  • Every Sunday we will have at least one to two people who will make sure that the regulations are being kept by all attendees.
  • We will pre-arrange the chairs in a way that allows at least 1.5m distance to anyone who is not a member of our own household. At the beginning of the service, we will also make sure that enough distance is being kept. You are NOT allowed to move the chairs from the place they are when you enter the room!
  • Wash your hands immediately when you arrive and disinfect your hands after washing
  • Wear a face mask all the time. Under current regulations, everyone is required to wear FFP2 masks. Community masks are no longer sufficient. We ask everyone to bring your own. If you forget to bring one, Aletheia will have some available. However, we ask everyone to bring their own, since we can’t simply hand out 10-15 masks every week.
  • Keep distance from each other all the time. During the service, sit at least 1.5m away from anybody who is not a member of your own household. Also, keep the “social distancing” rules that apply to all of us all the time (at least 1.5m distance from each other while talking, etc)
  • No physical touches at all. (No handshakes, no hugs, no laying on of hands, etc)
  • Please do not eat snacks at Aletheia, since snacks encourage us to share with each other, which can lead to physical proximity and touches. The only exception is small kids who just have to eat at a certain time.
  • Drinks are allowed, but please bring your own drinks and bottles, cups,… No sharing of drinks, bottles or cups with people outside your family. Aletheia will provide bottled water, but cups will not be available.
  • While prayer before and after the service are of course possible, we ask everyone to keep social distancing rules with each other before and after the service as well.
  • Since private gatherings are allowed again, we will no longer ask everyone to “leave immediately after the service”. We have to abide in the local regulations for “maximum number of people that are allowed to gather”. But since we are a small church, most of us can stay back for fellowship after the service under the current regulations. Please be aware that the regulations can change again anytime. If the maximum number of people who are allowed to gather is reduced again, we might have to change this practice again. But until regulations change, we do encourage everyone to stay back for fellowship after the service.
Our worship room is available for meetings, seminars, community groups and so on. However, the general regulations by the Bavarian government apply.

Since these regulations may change daily and since at the moment specific restrictions are connected to the reported number of new corona cases, please verify the currently applicable limitations for number of people and number of households that are allowed to meet.
